You can have more than one coach

I am in a lucky position to be a running coach of the people who already have personal trainers (The PTs who are gym specialists who don’t like to run, don’t understand PT programming (most do) or they don’t have the interest or desire)

Before we read on, this is fine.

As anyone who knows me, I have zero interest in physique body posing competitions. I also do not specialise in fat loss or weight loss, a primary goal.

Additionally, I am not an olympic lifting specialist (complex movements) or power lifting specialist.

A personal trainer in Dublin might train someone 2-3x times a week, which could add up to 4 to 12 sessions a month. The average PT cost is anywhere from €40 to €60 a session.

This means 1 person might be investing €320 to €400+ a month on personal training and even more.

How do I fit in? Well running coaching with the method was use is substantially cheaper than monthly personal training costs (for example 3 months is €160 (which is less than €60 monthly) and I have had a number of runners in social running clubs, training with other PTs and even personal trainers themselves looking for running help.

It is also common that I train runners from larger running clubs in Ireland who wish to branch out from track work to trail running and ultra running.

What’s great, though, about these personal trainers who recommend me is that they are happy to respect the logic of ‘staying in their own lane’. This means that just cause you can strength program doesn’t mean you can program for running.

Quite often, it is not that these ‘gym specialists’ can’t program for running. It is more often that they are just not that interested in it.

Then, I can step in and take over their gym clients' running needs at a fraction of the cost they pay for PT.

So, if any personal trainers out there wish to outsource the running portion of their training plans, just let your clients get in touch.

And if you want me to explain how it may work, drop me a DM, and we can set up a 10 minute call.
